Tractor Drawn Aerial
The newest product in the Smeal Aerial line up is the Tractor Drawn Aerial (TDA). Now available in travel heights as low as 10' 8" to meet the needs of most firehouses, it has much to offer. The added visibility of the Tri-Vue tiller cab is just one of those advancements. Contact Smeal Fire Apparatus Co. today for more details and give us the chance to meet your requirements.
UT100 100' Rear Mount Aerial
The "UT" structure (originally Under Ten) was designed around the 105' aerial structure. The original structure was designed to be used with an 88" high cab to get a rearmount at a 10' travel height. It was designed to take 5" out the height of the aerial side rails compared to a 105' structure. We understand that sometimes there is the need to get into a specific station or under an overpass that the 105' structure just cannot do. The unit still boasts a 500 lb. dry tip load and has almost all the features of a conventional 105' Aerial.
55' Heavy Duty Aerial
The 55' Heavy Duty Aerial is designed for single axle configurations. The base Quint model meets all requirements of NFPA. The aerial is rated with a 500 lb. tip load while flowing 1,250 GPM at 0 degrees elevation 90 degrees perpendicular to the aerial device. This allows for no restrictions in the operation of the aerial device. Pump configurations available from 1250 GPM through 2250 GPM, utilizing Waterous, Hale and Darley pumps. Tank configurations from 300-750 using Poly tanks. Hose bed configurations from: EHL (Ergonomic Hose Load), EZR (above the right side compartments), EZ Load (allows high side compartments both sides, with two hose beds) or ahead of the turntable with hose chutes
75' Heavy Duty Aerial Single Axle
The 75' Heavy Duty Aerial is designed for use with both single and tandem axle configurations. The base Quint model meets all requirements of NFPA. The aerial is rated with a 500 lb. tip load while flowing 1250 GPM at 0 degrees elevation 90 degrees perpendicular to the aerial device. This allows for no restrictions in the operation of the aerial device. Pump configurations available from 1,250 GPM through 2,250 GPM, utilizing Waterous, Hale and Darley pumps. Tank configurations from 300-400 using Poly tanks. Hose bed configurations from: EHL (Ergonomic Hose Load), EZR (above the right side compartments), EZ Load (allows high side compartments both sides, with two hose beds) or ahead of the turntable with hose chutes.
75' Heavy Duty Aerial Tandem Axle
The 75' Heavy Duty Aerial is designed for use with both single and tandem axle configurations. The base Quint model meets all requirements of NFPA. The aerial is rated with a 500 lb. tip load while flowing 1250 GPM at 0 degrees elevation 90 degrees perpendicular to the aerial device. This allows for no restrictions in the operation of the aerial device. Pump configurations available from 1,250 GPM through 2,250 GPM, utilizing Waterous, Hale and Darley pumps. Even CAFS can be installed when using the tandem axle. Tank configurations from 300-600 using Poly tanks. Hose bed configurations from: EHL (Ergonomic Hose Load), EZR (above the right side compartments), EZ Load (allows high side compartments both sides, with two hose beds) or ahead of the turntable with hose chutes. Many more options are available with a tandem axle without increasing the turning radius, compared to the same single axle 75' aerial chassis. In addition, there is more tire on the ground, meaning more braking capacity and a much safer apparatus.
85' Mid Mount Platform
Formerly the 87' Platform, this unit has undergone a complete redesign by the Smeal R&D team. SMEAL decided it was time to take this unit to the next level. The new unit has an overall length of only 44' 10". Also, at a travel height of 11' (132"), a full ISO compliment of ground ladders can be carried. Current platform load capacities are 500 lbs. while flowing water or 1,000 lbs. dry. If you are in the market for an aerial platform, we strongly encourage you to operate a Smeal platform. We are confident that you will find it to be the smoothest operating platform available. Our midmounts have a negative 12º to a positive 72º operational range.
87' Rear Mount Platform
The Smeal platform leveling system encorporates a gravity level-sensing clinometer, rather than a master/slave system found on other platforms. We use this superior system because it is based on gravity, which means the platform will always remain level, even when the truck is positioned on a severe slope. Master/Slave systems level only to the degree at which the truck is positioned. Additionally, our system eliminates 50% of the hydraulic oil lines, which reduces the effects cold weather can have on all hydraulic leveling systems.
100' Mid Mount Aerial
This has the same features as all the other Smeal aerials, except this unit is a midship mounted aerial so you can get that travel height of 10' to get you into those old firehouses. This unit can also be configured for other travel heights, such as 10' 6", 11', 11' 2", 11' 4", 11' 6". Each increase in travel height increases the amount of compartmentation.
100' Super Heavy Duty Aerial
Want the superior strength that this unit offers? Welcome to the Super Heavy Duty Aerial. 1,500 lb. tip load while flowing 1,500 GPM. No Restrictions.
100' Mid Mount Platform
All our platforms have a rating of 1000 lbs. dry or 500 lbs. while flowing water. There are NO restrictions on this rating. When minimum stabilizer setup requirements have been achieved, the maximum ratings of the platform remain constant, regardless of the elevation, extension or rotational placement of the aerial. The Smeal aerial platform arsenal is the pinnacle of performance.
100' Rear Mount Platform
All Smeal units are NFPA compliant and ULC certified and listed. We test all our designs and machines extensively, and we meet or exceed all minimum NFPA and ULC standards regarding structural safety factors, stability testing and performance testing. We do not use smoke and mirror tactics when it comes to capabilities. Plain and simple, our platforms have a 1500 GPM flow rating with monitor capabilites of 45º up and down, and a full 180º horizontal sweep. Flows of 2000 GPM are also available. Our rearmounts are set at a negative 8º to a positive 72º operation range.
105' Heavy Duty Aerial
The 105' Heavy Duty Aerial is designed for use with tandem axle configurations. The base Quint model meets all requirements of NFPA. The aerial is rated with a 500 lb. tip load while flowing 1,250 GPM at zero degrees elevation 90 degrees perpendicular to the aerial device. This allows for no restrictions in the operation of the aerial device. Pump configurations available from 1,250 GPM through 2,250 GPM, utilizing Waterous, Hale and Darley pumps. Tank configurations from 300-500 using UPF Poly tanks or CFP fiberglass tanks. Hose bed configurations from: EHL (Ergonomic Hose Load), EZR (above the right side compartments), EZ Load (allows high side compartments both sides, with two hose beds) or ahead of the turntable with hose chutes.
125' Heavy Duty Aerial
Who says bigger isn't better? When you are looking for the longest horizontal reach in the industry, look at this unit. 121' horizontal reach and 125' of vertical reach! Not only does it have reach, it has all the capabilities of other Smeal Aerials. 500 lb. tip load while flowing 1250 GPM. No restrictions!
